Scholarship

During the 2009 year, the Brothers of Villa Rica Lodge #584 were looking at ways to dispense charity through a college scholarship program. While much discussion was made about how and when this program would start, the one thing that always remained constant was the fact that the scholarship would be named after a pillar of our community and lodge, Ben Sexton. So in late 2009, Briana Fountain was named the inaugural Ben Sexton Scholarship winner. The 2010 scholarship recipiant was Gary McGear who is a student at Morehouse, and Lauren Freeman who attends Savannah State. The brothers of Villa Rica are committed to service through giving in various forms year in and year out. The Annual Ben Sexton Scholarship is just one of the ways in which charity will always be dispensed.
